Freedom of speech is the right of a person to articulate opinions and ideas 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙛𝙚𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙧𝙚𝙩𝙖𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩. The term “speech” constitutes expression that includes far more than just words, but also what a person wears, reads, performs, protests and more.
Why is it that NO ONE seems to understand that free speech DOES NOT mean 𝙛𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙙𝙤𝙢 𝙛𝙧𝙤𝙢 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙨𝙚𝙦𝙪𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚𝙨.

Why do people scream about free speech when they get fired over racist comments or just generally shit behavior? Unless you are employed by a government agency, your right to be an asshole and get fired for it has NOTHING TO DO WITH FREE SPEECH.
@thewebrecluse Certain people love to scream about free speech and have absolutely no idea what that means and it’s sad. Those folks are hopeless cuz they don’t care to be educated. They will forever be idiots.
@NewYorkJellybean Those idiots are some of the most dangerous and influential people in this country ... that's what is more shocking. This country has gone to hell thanks to those uneducated idiots.
@thewebrecluse It's hard not to notice the recent crop of "free speech absolutists". If they were actually true to their words, they'd be obligated to tolerate content anywhere from ISIS beheadings to child pornography. But we can well imagine such an absolutist's response to their six-year-old yelling "FUCK YOU AND THE LEAKING ANUS THAT BIRTHED YOU!!!"🙄
Just because 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 can't come in an snatch you out of your chair and haul you off to jail for saying whatever you want, that doesn't mean that your EMPLOYER, your FRIENDS, your FAMILY, PRIVATELY OWNED BUSINESSES, and other non-governmental agencies can't fire you, disown you, of refuse to do business with you for your opinions and ideas.
You can say whatever you want and 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙣𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩 can't do shit to you, even if you bash them. But PEOPLE can do whatever they want in response.
