Limited edition "blue" full analog vinyl of #BlueGiant ... one of the best #jazz films and soundtracks out there. I got this present for my tribemate ❤️ It's a dual record soundtrack.
Now I'm gonna have to watch that movie!
@Eulimnadian There is no U.S. release date for the film. But you can absolutely read the award winning manga anytime 👍🏾
Ahh. I haven't read a manga before. Maybe I'll give it a try!
@Eulimnadian I hope you will seriously consider it.
Blue Giant is a Japanese jazz-themed manga series written and illustrated by Shinichi Ishizuka. (May 2013 to August 2016)
The manga has been licensed for English release in a two-in-one omnibus edition and the first volume was released in November 2020.
By August 2020, the manga had over 5.8 million copies in circulation. In 2017, it won the 62nd Shogakukan Manga Award in the General category and the 20th Japan Media Arts Festival Award.
The manga is also licensed in France by Glénat, in Germany by Carlsen Verlag (starting with Blue Giant Supreme, which is set in Germany) and in Indonesia by M&C.
That just looks fantastic! Thanks for this Elaine.
@Eulimnadian ❤️ Anytime ❤️
Then, I might just have to get that blue record. I'm planning ahead 😂💜
@Eulimnadian The blue record was a limited edition so ... you might be able to find it still after a while but ... I wouldn't wait too long 👍🏾
It's very cool looking (and sounding). What a nice gift for your tribe mate.
@Eulimnadian Interesting my tribemate is heavy into anime like myself, but not at all into jazz. That has changed thanks to Blue Giant. My brother is heavily into jazz and never seen an anime in his life but now he wants to thanks to Blue Giant. ❤️
@Eulimnadian My brother didn't even know there was epic Japanese jazz ... because he, like many, doesn't care about anything like anime or related media outside of the U.S. I always tell people the more you expand your media viewing, the more you will discover ❤️ 👍🏾
@Eulimnadian Yep. MANY places. Jazz is very ubiquitous and Japan FAMOUSLY has a huge jazz scene.
Great article on Japanese jazz history ❤️

Thank you, interesting. I'll give that a thorough read.
