It's nice to see detective Joe, I mean, #JesseLMartin back on TV!
When the Flash finished up, I was so sad to know I would not be able to see Jesse and ESPECIALLY #DanielleNicolet on TV every week. Well at least Jesse is back with a new series called #TheIrrational.
Applied psychology crime series have been done and overdone so much and I find them terrible BUT all I care about is Jesse working again and I look forward to his wonderful energy and presence.
Just a reminder that #TheIrrational begins airing tomorrow with #JesseLMartin.
It's another one of those typical cliche procedurals about the "smart civilian guy" who helps incompetent, unimaginative, and obviously undereducated law enforcement solve crimes ... be it with psychology, applied psychology, mentalism, magic, or just plain critical thinking ... these shows have been done a million times over. ALL I care about is seeing Jesse working 👍🏾 I'm happy for him.
First episode of #TheIrrational starts out with a monologue about basically how people are stupid and irrational and then goes into a scene where the psychology professor proceeds to talk rationally to a guy holding a baby and a gun hoping to overwhelm him with decision fatigue. It works 95% of the time he says ... the other 5% oh well 🤣
It's a bad show 😞 but I think for the average viewer that uses LOT skills, it will be absolutely fascinating and teach them new things that they won't apply.
As I predicted ... this is one of the shows where the "smart guy" sits around and tells law enforcement lesson after lesson citing examples of how human behavior makes no sense or is incredibly predictable and full of failings of memory, lack of critical thinking, and general stupidity.
The show is designed to teach the viewer armchair applied psychology experiments that show how vulnerable people are.
It will be popular on social media 🤣 until it's cancelled.
I do especially like the way that is showcases psychology as a bit of a racket designed to expose weakness in people and show how to easily manipulate them if you use said knowledge to your advantage. These are such great lessons to teach people in today's world. 🤣

@TheBoostress Pilots are designed to get money. They are condensed ideas like sizzle reels to give a clear impression of what the show promises to deliver. I have never felt that pilots should be shown to audiences as they give a really false impression of the true focus of the show. Pilots are usually quite terrible. This one does it's job as far as selling a boardroom of men with money to invest in more episodes ... it's also awful. 🤣 I am glad Jesse has work though.
@thewebrecluse I didn't say it wasn't awful. But truthfully not even the trailer gave no indication that it would be good lol. Still gonna watch lol cuz Jessie. I'm hoping it will get better. 🤞🏾😆 (not holding breath lol - will be good background noise tho)
@TheBoostress yes these kinds of shows are great for watching while I work out ❤️ It will be nice to see Jesse for a while at least a season ❤️

@TheBoostress the pilot convinced NBC to give it a full season order back in December so we will at least have the 1. 👍🏾

A bonus to this horrendous show is seeing #LaurenHolly who is always fabulous ... I loved her in one of the best shows ever written ... #Motive.
