It's nice to see detective Joe, I mean, #JesseLMartin back on TV!
When the Flash finished up, I was so sad to know I would not be able to see Jesse and ESPECIALLY #DanielleNicolet on TV every week. Well at least Jesse is back with a new series called #TheIrrational.
Applied psychology crime series have been done and overdone so much and I find them terrible BUT all I care about is Jesse working again and I look forward to his wonderful energy and presence.
Just a reminder that #TheIrrational begins airing tomorrow with #JesseLMartin.
It's another one of those typical cliche procedurals about the "smart civilian guy" who helps incompetent, unimaginative, and obviously undereducated law enforcement solve crimes ... be it with psychology, applied psychology, mentalism, magic, or just plain critical thinking ... these shows have been done a million times over. ALL I care about is seeing Jesse working 👍🏾 I'm happy for him.
And don't forget ... #Perception

I have two additional shows for this thread that was about how common these shows are:
#WildCards which I mentioned I started watching recently ... criminal who helps cops solve crimes.
And ABC's newly announced #HighPotential which is about a cleaning lady with incredibly high IQ helps cops to solve murders ...
Updated trailer for the US remake of HPI: Haut Potentiel Intellectuel called #HighPotential ... it's yet ANOTHER one of those shows I can't stand where someone incredibly smart helps ridiculously stupid cops solve crimes. The french version manages to do this correctly .... I have no idea why the remake is so ... cliche .... maybe because the U.S. serves these shows over and over and over. The new TV landscape features 1% original writing ... it's tedious.
#HighPotential, the US remake of HPI: Haut Potentiel Intellectuel, just aired it's first episode.
I haven't had a chance to see it though I am very familiar with the French series with the amazing #AudreyFleurot who, if you haven't seen Spiral and Witnesses, is an AMAZING presence on screen.
Kaitlin Olson is another epic presence and she's gonna be perfect or this role I have no doubt.
I am just tired of remakes ... just air the originals with subtitles ... 🙄
Started rewatching #TheMentalist ❤️ I actually found this version of the "special police consultant" shows to be better than a lot of the others in the genre. I didn't care for the lead actor but I remember liking how they did the larger Red John plot that held things together.
I think most people who consume media do so with the belief that it is made to satisfy them specifically which it is not. They have a set expectation of the actors based on bias and preconceived ideas ... they have selfish demands of media and the stories they tell based on what they project into it. Most shows don't deserve the hell they get from most viewers. Art is art. Entertainment is entertainment. It's JUST television. Either enjoy it or go do something else with your time.
And also don't forget ... #TheMentalist
