@SkycladFox The Gamera episodes are classic! I also ended up getting the original Japanese (non-Sandy Frank) versions of the movies and they're really good. A lot less campy.
@Anthropomorph I'll admit that maybe I have a personal bias, because I never had a goal like he did... At least he got what he wanted... But when I heard about how badly he treats his parents, I have no respect for the guy. His parents are the nicest people in the world, and they only have ever believed in him. So that makes me dislike him more.
@Anthropomorph If you read any interview with Olivia Munn, where she actually talks about his family, you can kinda get the jist there too.... He's "too good" for them, and it's a shame, because they were only ever proud of him and very likely sure are. He's just always been too into himself to care.
@Anthropomorph His parents paid his way to make sure he really never had to work and could focus on his sports...... The fact that he returns "to sender" their Xmas gifts says a lot about who he is as a person.... And he makes them pay to see his games, as if they're trying to ride on his success... His parents are wealthy. They don't need any of his money.... He's just ungrateful.
@Anthropomorph His dad was my family's chiropractor. Dr. Ed was a great guy, always reminded me of the dad from Juno, the "get me pictures of Spiderman" guy. Great guy. Always knew Aaron as "Little Aaron Rodgers" doing homework in his dad's office, by the fish tanks. Always treated everyone as "beneath" him... Went to Butte Community with him, and he was kind of just into himself...
@runtime_err0r_z00 As I consume sunflower seeds en masse...
@runtime_err0r_z00 My personal go-to toppings are pepperoni and green olives... I like sodium!
@RealityTC It really reminds me of the old late-90s chat rooms where everyone just had fun and chatted...
Also, welcome!
@runtime_err0r_z00 For real! There's so much great pizza out there of all types! Enjoy it all!
Also, I keep having to explain to people that we don't often eat deep dish. Tavern style is the go-to for most of us! 26 bucks and I get a party/family size tavern style 2-topping, and if we're lucky, it lasts 2 days! Or we just kill it all in one sitting.
Deep dish is for company and the odd occasion we want it.
@DrewExists Also, there's often laughing in the background... Mostly by the female host, who literally has to go off mic from guffawing so hard. Can't recommend enough.
@DrewExists It doesn't have PFT (unless he guested on an episode? I know they had Janet Varney) but it does have similar insane energy, I highly recommend Hey Riddle Riddle... Improv folks from Chicago solving "riddies and puzzies" and the absurdness is delightful.
This Chicagoan really wishes Round Table Pizza would come to the Midwest... There isn't much of anything like them, and I have no other desire to go to the west coast. #pizzawar #pizzawars
@groverclevelandsburner A friend asked me (a whiskey drinker) what bourbon to get for her work bourbon exchange, and within a millisecond, I replied "Woodford Reserve"
I prefer their rye and wheat for IBS reasons, but WR is easily my fave... Along with Tullamore Dew for an Irish whiskey.
@Teach4Democracy They are a cash only establishment, just to warn you... But they are wonderful. The wife and I could just share a salad and Mediterranean bread and be full...
@Teach4Democracy Giordano's is my go-to for deep dish. Have you ever had the pizza pot pie from Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder?? It's on Clark in the Lincoln Park area.
@ceorl @LiberalLibrarian Literally ALL of my filters end in rdle but they still get through somehow.
And now, to attempt again to post this quote from a comedy podcast with little to no context...
