The only truly infuriating thing about 1899 is that Netflix subtitled the "feed your head" part of the theme song as "singer vocalizing"
@silent_dystopia A cover of it, but yes. That's exactly the song. They subtitle all the lyrics perfectly until they part... And then it's "singer vocalizing" and it drives me crazy.
@theunabeefer oh noooo. that's one of my favorite songs. and i'm Deaf, the subtitles MATTER to me. 😆
@silent_dystopia I'm half deaf in my right ear, but not fully deaf... I rely on subtitles most of the time, but especially at night when I don't want to anger neighbors....
The show is properly subtitled for all the dialogue. It's just the opening song that they seemed to half-ass. It's not like the words were hard to understand even! There's no excuse for it.... But it doesn't detract from the show.
@theunabeefer glad to hear. you ever watch the british show "Misfits"? The theme song (The Rapture/"Echoes") has fuckin' awesome riffs, and the lyrics come in and for the first couple seasons they subbed the lyrics and I loved it. Then one season they didn't. I forget what they said but it was like "[theme music]" or some shit. I was like.. the fuck?! pissed me off every episode. :)
@theunabeefer btw if you're half deaf in one ear, have you considered hearing aids? reason i ask is because I bluetooth directly into my audio feeds. Sit there in complete external silence, not bothering NOBODY and blasting my ears loud as I want. hell, I go grocery shopping with spotify playing directly from my phone, nobody around me can hear. beats headphones and ill fitting earplugs. :)
@silent_dystopia I've considered hearing aids, especially now that they are covered over the counter... My Galaxy earbuds have a noise mode that helps too.
Most of the time it's not an issue though, beyond making people repeat what they say.
@theunabeefer what song? i havent seen the show but i cant imagine they're using Jefferson Airplane's White Rabbit.. :)
