I had, for a long time been under the idea that there was 100% Native American Indian ancestry from my Great Grandma. My dad and his sisters were told so and well, they actually looked like there was. I became somewhat obsessed with that understanding and dove in head first reading and buying Native American books, music, art on a smallish budget. mind you. Though as of actual Ancestral research and DNA test, not a trace is found. Imagine my initial disappointment.

That is interesting. Makes sense since why would any 100% Native North American Indian give DNA samples to Ancestry.com or other such orgs. My cousins on one side we know for a fact are part Mi'kmaq on their paternal side. Ancestry marked one cousin simply as "xx% Native American.
@thereg001 did you take the MTDNA test because the Ancestry test is not accurate. There are specific tests that need to be done, depending on the gender of your relative. The ancestry samples are only from South America and so it’s not an accurate sampling.
