A missed photo op.
The only time so far I think I may have like to have glasses with a hi-def camera built in.

While riding a bike in a state park, suddenly ahead on the path in a marshy area, was the largest Great Blue Heron I have ever seen. Or at least I'm 95% sure it was a GB Heron. Its head had to be at about 4.5 to 5 feet from the ground.

It was an amazing experience just to see it. Naturally before I could tell my friend "stop get your phone out" and before I could stop and grab my phone/camera off the bars. It spotted us and took off into the nearest tree. WHAT a wingspan! So gracefully too!

Then as we approached the tree it landed in. Off it flew away to .. somewhere out of sights.

@thereg001 Great Blue Herons are very large. i have a wing feather from one that i found in the pasture (the herons like my little pond as a lunch spot). it's one of the smaller flight feathers & is 17"
