Addendum: I'm not the biggest fan of cakeish noms, not since I was in my mid-twenties. That said, now I'm flooded with memories of the tastiness of chomping the stuff with Pa and my cousins when I was smol, and I kinda feel the need to make it, as a salute.

Porridge Oat Loaf Cake
The Backyard Chef

My late great-uncle Jack used to make the Scottish/Irish oat loaf, and Pa (my late grandfather) used to make it as a cake, when I was a smol human type person.

I am ridonkulously of British descent, with a substantial heaping of English (entire) and Scotlands (Lowlands and Southern Uplands). My red hair and propensity for skin cancer from a Scots-Irishness, for flair.

I've made the oat loaves but never the cake.

: And on that note, folks, I bid you bonne notte.

Catch you lot tomorrow.

: I am taking it that the "debate" between The Spray-Tan Manchild and Kamala Harris went as expected.

Am I accurate in this figuring?

: To my dying day I will be proud AF of my adopted species because of Voyager 1. I mean... it's a near-certainty that well after our species is gone our little buddy will be still on the move. It will have no power, and its hardware (all of it) will likely be heavily degraded, but it will be zooming still.

: I don't care what anyone says, but Q.T. changed movie dialogue by bringing a style into the light. Because someone believed in him and his script, he got his shot and hit the bullseye.

: Called it!!!!

Frickin' China. All smoke, no sizzle, since the 1940s, same as the Soviets.

And in the end, the lesson we learned was that it was the friends we all made along the way.

The sooner Republicans figure out that Donald J. Trump absolutely CANNOT be trusted with whatever message they want to pump out, the better, for a free and fair Democracy.

: Colonoscopy was passed with flying colors. Dr. Deal, whom I've known and has as one of my GI docs since 1993, said mah large intestine looks nearly pristine. He just had to clip a ~3mm polyp. The rest, he said, looked almost textbook.

So I've got that going for me. It was the first one I"ve had done since December 1992, the month before my first liver tx.

: I don't get to eat anything substantive tomorrow. I've a GI procedure Tuesday morning, and I have an empty stomach and have fasted for at 36 hours. It's reminiscent of getting an ERCP or a colonoscopy. You have to starve for a day. That said, thank goodness my procedure isn't at 4 PM like it was last time. Being hungry for two days blows worse than being hungry for just one. (I do have chicken broth and ginger ale, though, and so I've got that going for me, at least until 12 AM EST on 9/11.
