@thedisasterautist Mine too. And it's been a long time since I was part of a cast that got a long so well--it was getting old and tiring dealing with the fakeness and snobbery. We are having the the best time on and off the stage.
@SmirkingRaven: I was always fortunate in that department. Since I was an early-teen, at the start of my career, all the shows I was in were, at worst, stable and free of high-drama. There were a few anomalies, but they were almost never to do with the cast but drama between the the director and SM or the ASM or AD and someone in the cast. (People are weird.) That said, I was usually shielded from minor drama because of my social cue blindness. Off-stage, though, showbiz is skullduggerous.
@thedisasterautist I get it. The politics, the polite fakeness, the cliques, the drama between theater boards, directors, producers, ADs, and their friends who are also fellow actors in this town gets exhausting and it's stupid. For such a large city, the theater community is tiny so it's like constantly being on display by the judgmental assholes. You will be talked about, you will be mocked, and ridiculed while all the while smile to your face. There are good ones but they are hard to find.

My social cue blindness did me no favors there and is what, in fact, cost me my old theatre career in North and South Carolina. You can't "pick a side" if you have no idea there's a side that must be picked, and so all the sides figure you're with any or all of the others. (People are weird.)
I was told the only reason I was kept around so long was because I delivered reliably. Eventually, though, the crazy, pointless melodrama you can't see kills you.
