Something I see a lot in fiction...

humans create a robot/species to work as servile to them. They realize they're getting a raw deal and rise up against the subjugation.

And they're usually the bad guys in most narratives... Kinda like not wanted to be a slave is something to be derided...

Just a random thought...

@sentientdessert: Because the "robot/AI/machine uprising" is and always been a few of most of humanity, and it's also a variation of the "Slavery/Subjugation is bad, and aren't humans awful?" trope. The two mix like oil and water quite often.

The late "Westworld" HBO series did it right, though, at least for the first two seasons, and then the Nolan and Joy, the two showrunners, gave up working on it regularly because Amazon lured them away to work on a Westworld rip-off for Prime.

@thedisasterautist There is a series called ExoSquard, where humans created a biological race, which follows the tropes well. It was surprisngly erudite for a 90's cartoon commercial, very much influenced by the Gundam series. Which themselves also deal with the subjugation, but that mostly is due to colonialism, and not exactly making a new race to do the work for us.
