@codeWhisperer: Cryptobros want deregulation and the ability to pump-and-dump, be able to bilk marks and dupes out of billions of cash and without legal problems. They want free global money-laundering.
@codeWhisperer: As soon as I heard about it before it actually became a thing, I knew exactly what it was going to be. Crypto was never, ever going to be non-grift, a non-con, etc. by and large, especially not the "true libertarian solution" it was revved as. How did I know?
Human nature.
Just look at our species history, not the fairy tales and Horacio Algiers stories but the actual, verifiable history.
@thedisasterautist Agreed.
Cryptocurrency had fantastic potential to solve the micropayment problem that has been a goal for many of us. It also had the capacity to free us from merchant account and processor fees that take from 1 to 5 % of every transaction. And also, the stress of potential business loss without warning when traditional payment processors cut you off, keep your money, and won't tell you why, or how to fix it.
I had such hope for it to be the solution.
But, alas... greed. 😢
