Totally agree! And I hope Harris will have an AG with some spine!

@johnldeboer: I never understood the boners people had for Garland. His track record was not at all bad, certainly, but he wasn't the lawyer, as far as I could see at the outset, that was the one anyone wanted post-. Mainly, the Dems were emotional about him because he was a Obama SCOTUS nominee who got bullshit-rejected by & Co. Plus, he wasn't Bill Barr. His AG appointment was lauded as though he was the Raging Bull of Justice, but he was always Millard Fillmore.

@thedisasterautist Yup. Never should have been picked for AG. Not in his temperament. Always bending over backward to be fair, as judges - the good ones - are won’t to do.

@johnldeboer: The AG is not a judgeship. It's the federal government's prosecuting attorney. Jack Smith would've been a better AG. He's keenly intelligent, experienced, doesn't waste time on Nerf, aggressive when it's time to be so and patient (even when it's irksome but due to process and protocol). That said, I believe Garland was a good SCOTUS Associate Justice pick.
