Within another six months, sales were down substantially, too many new-hires having to be brought up to speed and also not enough expertise left to really accomplish it effectively. Then there were worries about affording the floor of the nice office building they'd been in since the late 1970s. (This all happened in the late-1990s.) So he moved them to another, small city nearby, kind of a dumpy town at the edge of the metro area.
