: My friend Ariel, who a few years ago made public that she'd then recently grown out of being the woman at the top of the meme and did some time as the woman on the bottom of the meme, posted this to her social media recently and got excoriated for it, primarily by women of both of the dominant political persuasions. Earned her some online and IRL harassers and a few death threats. So she's social media free since last month, and she says she's better off.

People are crazy.

: My best friend Chas dropped her social media five or six years ago. She was LJ first, and then later FB and then Twitter. She didn't get stalkers and such. She got lots of hate, though, because she calls things how she sees them, which many, especially men (because she's "just a woman"), dislike immensely. Plus, the Daily Misery Inundation didn't help. So she ditched everything but IG, and that's mainly for pupstalking in NYC and showing live theatre programs. She's happier now, too.
