@SSNBubblehead: Yep. In the '70s we had the State Health Department Vaccination Cards that had to be presented on the way into the school on the first day of the school year. If you didn't show it to one of the teachers or administrators at the door on the way in, your parents or your ride got a call. They had to either bring the card immediately or pick you up and take you home. And the school took several days to call the doctors listed on the cards to verify.
