1/2: For about sixish years now I have been using basic gestures and a teeny-tiny-eency bit of sign language when I am not particularly verbal, and it's done me in fair stead. That said, I have of late considered seriously, to the point of starting it today, carrying a dedicated smol notepad and a fine-tipped Sharpie to do a bit more communicating when in such low- or non-verbal episodes when oot and aboot. I estimate...
2/2: ...I am low- to non-verbal maybe a quarter of the time, though that is a from-the-hip ballparking and not via any manner of recording and analysis. It could be less but likely not noticeably more.
