One thing about fashion trends... those of us who were poor and got mocked for what we had to wear to school, eventually get to witness our bullies pay out the nose to buy the very same looks they tormented us for wearing.

@VaGyver: Affirmative.

They also tormented some of us for the things we thought were funny, and then we got to see them fall all over themselves laughing at the same stuff and shouting how genius it was... once it was on SNL and then on tv and in movies after 1992.

@VaGyver: I also remember back when bell peppers were often for some reason considered "poor people food", probably because you could by them for a dime each when I was growing up. Then after they started being the rage on Food Network, suddenly they shot up in price, and the rich kids, now adults, started going on and on about how they love bell peppers.

Fashion: the art of keeping up with what other were doing yesterday

@thedisasterautist I remember the same happeneing with chicken wings. Definitely used to be poor people food and we're dirt cheap, before the Buffalo wing trend started.

@VaGyver: Yep.

Same thing happened to denim jeans long, long ago.

Lobster and crab as foodstuffs also.
