Libertarian upset that Ukraine has sovereignty and didn’t give it up because Russia told them not to.

Again this is apparently what libertarians stand for. But this one is upset about it.

Because libertarians don’t actually want small government, or a limit on the states power.

Btw the deal she’s throwing a hissy fit about was for Ukraine to give up land to Russia. It wasn’t just not joining NATO.

@BlastBunny: The Libertarian Party at every level has been not-secretly primarily a band of old states' rights, Lost Cause, fascist, white nationalist, and other scum since the 1980s.

I know from my experiences in the party in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They weren't publicly pro-fascist and white supremacist back then, but many were privately, in-group.

@thedisasterautist

They tried the image rehab with “Legalize pot” and “LGBT marriage”

Of course when you ask them “How would pot be legal and LGBT marriage be legal if every state can make their own rules”

And it’s just a lot of “You just don’t understand”

@BlastBunny: Yep. They fantasize about an 18th-century "good old days" without taking into account the last 300+ years of geopolitical, social, economic, and technological advances and changes. Buncha dumbasses. They're just a rash of runaway egos and ids. Asshats.

@thedisasterautist

I kept asking relevant questions to a libertarian about how their system would work, like questions that blew apart their arguments.

And they got mad and said “Why do I have to have the system all planned out when the system we have now doesn’t have to”

And I told him “Well it’s kind of asinine to say your system is better than the current one if you don’t know how it will actually work.

And I shit you not they replied with “I didn’t say it would make stuff better”

@BlastBunny: Yeah. That's invariably the trouble with a) ideologies and b) dipshits.

@thedisasterautist

I was just so taken aback.

Like what the point then?

Cool you have more personal rights but if everything is shit you didn’t win anything. You just go back to fuedalism.

@BlastBunny: It is quite something, absolutely. They have this ego-driven Social Darwinist fantasy. It's bizarre but predictable, alas.

@thedisasterautist

“Well hey sucks that we couldn’t fix your leg because you couldn’t afford it but look at the bright side…..you have 300 different options for BBQ sauce”

Follow

@BlastBunny: I imagine their figuring is along the lines of "What? You couldn't fix your own leg because you haven't studied bush and urban survival techniques? You didn't have anything to barter with with the doctor? You didn't invest in crypto?"

@thedisasterautist

The BBQ sauce doubles as an antiseptic because there aren’t food regulations.
