I'm not sure if the part about exchanging ideas and learning from each other is for real or just an excuse to increase connections, headhunt or sell some leadership material.

@Productive: If it's LinkedIn, it's nothing but trying to build bigger "network" so that others will look at their profile and think they actually know all those folks.
