: a running obervation of mine since I was a kid and that I posted to my IG this past summer
I understand histrionics but do not "get" it, of that makes sense. Same goes for a lot of seemingly normal, conventional behaviors of the human population at large.
Of course this costs me socially a *lot* and always has done, but I believe I get the better end of things out of it in the long run.

@thedisasterautist it’s a default setting for a lot of people.
@Dreaw404: Long ago, I thought it couldn't be, and then I understood it is. Like passive-aggression and lying, histrionics is often a very and lamentably effective tool to get one's way.
@thedisasterautist exactly.
@Dreaw404:L What's weird is usually people complain about it constantly, whether they're the people that do it or the people that give in to it... or both.
Also funny-but-not is that people find my reaction to other people's histrionics and passive-aggression refreshing... until I respond the same way to theirs.
The dissonance is sometimes overwhelming.
