Then once the hated people are out of the way, THAT'S when it starts to matter what you look like. THEN things get *really* bad, and people act all surprised and say things like, "Hey! I'm on *your* side! Remember!"

I've seen it play out a lot, as have many, many people throughout history, but weirdly, people keep ignoring it because 🤷‍♂️ .
