: wo0t!

I’ll be getting a new naptop early next week, an iMac Air.

My trusty Toshiba conked out after seven years. Best laptop I’ve ever had, it was. A real speed demon, hecka horsepower. I used the hell out of it. It was mah travel buddeh.

The new machine is smaller and 5 lbs. lighter. I’m not doing the remote IT work anymore. So I don’t need the Toshiba-level workhorse anymore. I simply need a laptop I can work on my writing on, text and email, and FaceTime colleagues and my kids.

@thedisasterautist have you used a mac before?

b/c macs do take some getting used to.

i went mac book & mac book air when i started working from home & didn't have dedicated IT support. at first, i was frustrated b/c it wasn't the way a pc thinker thought. but once i got used to it, 💜 it. have having to go back to pcs now.

& my mac goes everywhere w/ me. sometimes i forget my phone. i never forget my mac.

i hope you love your imac as much as i love my macs.

@singlemaltgirl: I bought my first Mac back in 2009, and early last year I bought the new one that’s just the box. My 2009 Mac was struggling to keep up, and the new iOS wasn’t compatible. The new iMac has the M1 chip, which is really amazing.

I’ve had an iPhone for about 10 years. I am on the 12 now, and I have had an iPad Pro, the big one they don’t make anymore, since 2018.

The new iMac laptop will fit right in. 👽

@thedisasterautist oh, nice! then you're all set.

i hate the iphones. lest peeps think i am all apple all the time. i'm android/samsung whatever. iphones piss me off. & their cost is ridiculous.

i do like the ipods. but they keep changing them which pisses me off. still best audio quality of the mp3s i've seen. damnit.
