#politics Maybe politics, maybe more about social media. I read Wired there's an online article about the steady growth of Truth Social and a comparison to compared to Mastodon.
Particularly interested in how many TS subscribers believe the news there is accurate.
I'm hoping that this article is free to read, but since I subscribe I'm not entirely sure.
@J_Windrow: It's unsurprising that TS is growing, what with the lately announcement by Orange McTinyhands, the drama at Twitter, the Orange One not going back to Twitter (at this point), the midterms being just over, and the General Election in two years, not to mention Mastodon, CS, Hive, and Tribel being where Lefties and some moderates are going. People are staking their platforms for the run-up to the General Election.
@thedisasterautist #politics it appears that he's contractually obligated to pose to TS first and not repost any material to any other forum for 8 hours (with some exceptions) and he's economically invested in TS. The question Wired poses is whether he can run an effective election campaign without being on the bird where he has many more millions of supporters.
I know people on TS and they get their news from Breitbart and NewsMax and consider FoxNews too liberal.
@J_Windrow: I knew that about him and TS, the contractual stuff, yeah. Some are speculating TS and he may "relax" his restrictions so that he can cross-post to Tweetar, probably sooner rather than later.
it's also no secret Orange McTinyhands is enjoying watching Apartheid Clyde twist. Orange Guy is famous for his grudge-holding.
@J_Windrow: In its way it's pretty... spectacular, and I mean that in the truest sense of the word. It's a hecka spectacle.
