@andrewsweet I think it was worded pretty fairly. I agree that Griner’s detention was totally political. She was held and tried because of her celebrity status as a basketball player, knowing that would ring up well at the a state Department because the media would run with it.

Viktor Bout will kill Americans again.

Paul Whelan isn’t a basketball player. He’s been detained for 4 years. Griner admitted possession. Whelan? Should he have gone first?

The question was: is it fair? Equivalent?
