@aasteppin The amount of people who consistently misunderstand or worse misrepresent autism is infuriating.

@techpriest it is sad for sure...we need to educate our children so that it will no longer be an issue....

@aasteppin Also realizing that it's not "something you grow out of", there are adults with autism and people don't understand how to handle or treat them either. Especially if you're good at masking.

I've encountered this a lot myself and it's extremely difficult to explain to people.

@techpriest it sure is. My grandson is autistic and schizophrenic and granddaughter has autistic tendency's but they both have strengths in some areas that I can't imagine. super smart kids well adults now..they have challenges but have learned its not up to them to correct others. That is a huge step..but yes people are shitty sometimes with what they don't understand
