BJ's Wholesale Club, which claims to know me so well, just emailed me "personalized coupons" including a dollar off Scott brand toilet paper. Seriously? The Scott brand? And, here, I really thought BJ's Wholesale Club and I had something and understood each other. The whole thing was one big lie. I'm deeply disappointed and even embarrassed. I'll bet Costco would never accuse me of being the type of person to use Scott toilet paper.

@StaceyMiller Costco will eventually accuse you of being the type of person who would use Kirkland brand toilet paper.

@tdotrob Now you're bringing up a terrible memory. During the early part of the pandemic, when we were all hoarding TP, I'd signed up with Instacart so I could swing either way: BJs/Costco. I ordered Kirkland TP and, as the gods are my witnesses, they sent me 1-ply toilet paper. I confronted them via Twitter. They replied -- you can't make this stuff up -- that some people actually liked 1-ply TP. If those people really exist, I hope to never encounter them.

@StaceyMiller
a) I do not believe such people actually exist.
b) I believe the marketing dept totally believes such people exist.
c) The marketing dept is very adept at getting fiction published as fact
d) Apologies if I induced PTPSD (Post TP Stress disorder)
e) Condolences on the crappy Instacart (lack of) fulfillment experience

@tdotrob You did induce PTPSD, but you coined a new syndrome, so you've redeemed yourself. Maybe you would care to redeem that personalized coupon for a dollar off sandpaper, or whatever that stuff is.
