There is neither shame nor pride in blocking people on CoSo. It's just a tool to help each of us curate our own attention.

@sumpnlikefaith I don't take it as an insult if someone blocks me, any more than I'd be insulted if they spoke to different people than me at a party or amusement park.

@AskTheDevil I was going to add that, too. If we can identify the right motives, then hopefully we can also take the freight out of it on the receiving end.

People making a big out of blocking or being blocked has always been one of the weirder elements of social media to me.

@sumpnlikefaith I am incapable of feeling peer pressure, envy, or jealousy, so it looks very odd to me. I've been trying to understand those feelings as an outsider for some time. I think there's some instincts that can go awry when people are subjected to unhealthy experiences.
