Donald Trump is what you get when John Kennedy Toole's ridiculous fictional character Ignatius J. Reilly (from the book "A Confederacy of Dunces") is possessed by demons.

@GypsyGirl the funny thing is, it wasn't even in Oregon. It was in Grass Valley, California...

Don't get me wrong. I really love my city Portland and don't hate hipsters at all. But some days, a few of them are beyond obnoxious. Here's my brief poem: "Hipster Virus." It's just a joke that arose from an unpleasant encounter with the most ridiculously pretentious coffee shop crowd I've ever seen, and it wasn't even in Portland! LOL qr.ae/pvYTWk

@YochananDov I think this was totally predictable. Musk calls himself a free speech absolutist, meaning he thinks absolutely all speech - no matter how vile and abusive -that isn't technically illegal, should be allowed. The moral problem with his position is that much of Nazi hate speech happens to be technically legal. Hopefully all good people will delete their Twitter accounts, and leave the Nazis to devour each other.

I literally have less anxiety since deactivating my Bird account and coming to CS.

@kathrynresister Same here, but after 30+ years in public service computer and network security I’m well aware and in awe of his skill, dedication and tenacity! Happily retired now 😉

@Lindalemondrop yes, and their latest plot to create "alternate" (FAKE) electors, which is entirely illegal.

@Lindalemondrop I was listening to podcasts at work today, talking about this. It's a very real concern, but not entirely surprising given the fascist coup they're still trying to pull off. Not sure about legal challenges at this point, as it seems if the GOP is able to simply run out the clock until they're able to take control again, legal challenges won't mean much then. My point is that dems always try to be polite and play by the rules, and the fascists simply weaponize that against us.

@dz I'm not worried about "the farthest left" at this time. I don't think they're the real danger to the Republic right now. As for civil wars, that's a real concern and unfortunately, I think it's now inevitable that there will be another civil war here in the US. But it's the far right that's pushing that. They've actually said many times, they're preparing for a civil war, because they want one.

It will settle down.

You would NOT believe the heroic effort it took to keep this site up today.

Ya know that feeling when you throw a party, expecting just a few friends...... and some how the word gets out you have live music, and the whole city shows up !

. - While you can't 'pin' individual Cosonauts profiles as columns you CAN you can create a list with a single user or multiple users, then pin that list as a column. The lists option is in the section directly below the main navigation.

@Serenity22 I'm not sure we can counteract it. What I find troubling is many "alleged" Christians have gone full fascist in support of Trump. It's beyond troubling, but not without historical precedent. In Nazi Germany, many of the churches mixed the teachings of Christ with fascist ideology. What they did is called Christofascism, and being raised in the church, I believe I saw seeds of that in the church when I was still a child, although I didn't have the terminology to name it back then.
