I’m wearing a special reflective vest to walk the dog tonight—but most painfully visible are surely the white socks I’ve paired with my black sneakers.

@Minholkin Mind you don't get caught by the fashion police!

When I was a teen, white socks outside of a gym meant "on the pull". We even called them "pulling socks" 🤣🤣

So yeah! Good luck 😜

Whaaaat I never learned the secret sock code what is even happening

@Minholkin So it goes back to military dress codes.
You had two colours of socks: white for sports and black for *everything else*. So when you got some leave and went out clubbing, looking for a bit of "action", you didn't want to wear your black socks with your civvies, so you wore the white ones.

And so "Pulling socks" were born.

@Minholkin Of course, you'd eventually get around to buying a pack of civvy socks but in those early days, you did your best with what you had! @Beanc
