i feel like all the mass shooters in the 🇺🇸 took a break over the summer. then back to school & wham! shooting after shooting.
do they take the summer off or something? 🤔

Lots of factors I imagine, but as I understand it, multiple-victim shootings happen every day in the USA, but it's not always a rando. It's family, or gang related or robbery gone wrong etc. It could be that one mass shooting inspires the next. Who knows?
A "mass shooting" is defined as an event in which 4 or more people are shot.
Why, yes, we HAVE delineated it and categorized it.
@LiberalLibrarian I see enough stories of "Man shoots wife, her boyfriend and two children and then himself" type stories. They count, even if the victims survive.
@stueytheround but they're shooting up the interstate and other places. i can def see school shootings be on hiatus for the summer. but shooters shoot all kinds of things - malls, casinos, highways (apparently) etc.
just wondering what are the factors at play?
or maybe i missed summer shootings?
or are there some stress factors when kids go back to school?
or are there major gun sales when the fall comes around.
or????
