@stueytheround
Aahh that clawed the jam off my back🤣 I need it for an alarm-clock. I'm a fan of HMS anything, Napoleonic era especially.
@JLong You should talk to Eleanor. She was a seagoing WReN for ten years and she *loves* history!
Hey @Mauve_matelot wanna spin some dits?
@stueytheround @Mauve_matelot
Any book suggestions would be very welcome. I'm hoping to cross the pond this year and visit a friend, as well as every museum i see🤣
@JLong One of my old crewmates has published some works
@Mauve_matelot Fascinating, thank you! What a noble campaign, too.
@JLong Richard is a good egg
@JLong Well if that's the case, I'll see you when you get to Plymouth because any lover of British Naval History must come to visit 😁
@Mauve_matelot
@stueytheround Bookings are currently open for the #Plymouth Dockyard Museum https://devonportnhc.wordpress.com/
@stueytheround @JLong the Mayflower Museum has been recently updated following #Mayflower400 https://www.visitplymouth.co.uk/things-to-do/mayflower-museum-p928703
@Mauve_matelot @stueytheround
I didn't know there was a Mayflower Museum, ill add it to the list. The Victory is first.
@JLong Absolutely! Any lover of Napoleonic Naval History has to visit Portsmouth, first and I say that as a loyal Plymothian!
@JLong If time is on your side, consider visiting Hms Warrior and the Mary Rose, they are all in the same historic Dockyard at Portsmouth, and it is adjacent to the current Military Dockyard
@JLong In case that made no sense, the official anthem of the Royal Navy is "Heart of Oak" and the chorus goes
Heart of oak are our ships,
Jolly Tars are our men;
We always are ready,
steady, boys, steady!
