Looks like @Mauve_matelot needs a new bicycle!
Took her current one for a checkup and the repairs needed run to nearly £300! A decent new bike costs £350 🤣

Strange how bicycles have been in the forefront of my mind in the last couple days- a cache of letters from my Great-Grandfather surfaced, and my sib has been sharing them with me- but a regular (almost daily) trip he took via his bicycle was to bathe in Holywood/Helen's Bay; this would have been pre-WWI, and I'm imagining the state of the roads.
