Have you taken the Monotropism Questionnaire?
“Monotropism seeks to explain autism in terms of attention distribution and interests.”
“Monotropism provides a far more comprehensive explanation for autistic cognition than any of its competitors.”
Need ammo to push back against behaviorism in your school? Here’s a resource stockpile.
Being a space holder is one of the most important jobs of teachers and parents.
> A space holder is someone who can create and hold a safe space for a person so they can be themselves around them, knowing they will not be judged, they will be understood, valued and have an authentic meaningful connection.

Jingle All Our Ways: Benefit to Build Community
We’re doing a fundraising campaign culminating in a concert in the Austin, TX, USA area on December 17th. All funds go to neurodivergent and disabled musicians. Read the story here:
We updated our “Polyvagal Theory” glossary page with a selection from “A neurodiversity paradigm lens on polyvagal theory — Neurodiverse Connection”.

The nonprofit professionals who consult us tell us we’re unique. They tell us we’re tearing down walls in philanthropy.
Here’s our pitch deck.
It’s made for sharing. Feedback welcome.
We created a “Monotropism Questionnaire” landing page for our site.
https://stimpunks.org/monotropism-questionnaire/
It includes the text of the questionnaire. One of the motivations for creating this page is to translate the questions and supporting info into a bunch of languages using our AI + human translation system (wpml.org).
Before we pay for translations and text-to-speech, feedback and iteration on the page is welcome.
Participatory research requires us to participate. We just added a new page on our website that lists current studies, questionnaires, and calls for papers we recommend joining.
https://stimpunks.org/research/participate/
What should we add to this list? All locales welcome.

We updated our piece on the Monotropism Questionnaire’s viral moment with important messages from the authors of the questionnaire on “what it is, where it came from, and what we want to do with it in the future.”

“Existing as an autistic person, therefore, is almost a forceful demonstration in agency.”
—Marianthi Kourti
We reframe to demonstrate agency.
“We have autistic children who need us to support them as architects of their own liberation against the schools and clinicians and institutions and police and prosecutors who would crush and destroy them.”
“…if we’re going to rewrite the narratives, then there’s no reason to hold ourselves back from our most radical and defiant rewritings.”
—Lydia X. Z. Brown
We’re going to rewrite the narratives.
We made lots of progress on our “Neurodiversity and Gender” course.
This Is My Space: Collaborative Niche Construction in Psychologically Safe Space
“It is deeply subversive to live proudly despite being living embodiments of our culture’s long standing ethical failings.”
—Maxfield Sparrow
Live proudly. Reframe with us.
This Is Not About Me: The Journey from Patient to Agent and the Fight for Educational Inclusion
Jordyn’s hard fought quest for educational inclusion sent us on several nostalgia trips as her story paralleled our stories. This film gathers relatable touchstones on the journey from patient to agent. It succinctly and poignantly captures why Stimpunks exists. We recommend it to all fellow humans, but especially educators.
Our community thrives on collaborative niche construction in Cavendish Space.
