This is the song where I, as a young lad, finally understood the value of headphones. 1:59 to 2:01 in the song changed my world. Unfortunately, the Youtube version loses the effect.
Ace Frehley - KISS Solo - Speedin' Back To My Baby
Digging through some of my old digital archives and moving stuff into my active library. I completely forgot about the SHN format.
It's decided. I'm buying a new NAS. I'm going to move all my movies and photos to the new NAS (18TB) and leave only music on the old NAS (12TB). That way I'll finally have room for all this music data. I'm currenly only approaching 3TB on the music front, but I haven't started ripping vinyl yet. That's going to balloon things quickly. Plus, I keep both flac and MP3/Opus versions of every album, so things are getting tight and will get more so very soon.
And btw, A Fistful of Alice is arguably the best live recording Alice Cooper has ever done. It was recorded at Sammy Hagar's Cabo Wabo club in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The sound is fantastic and there are some great guest stars. It has the best live version of Billion Dollar Babies I've ever heard.
Alice Cooper - A Fistful of Alice - Is Anyone Home?
Another tragically overlooked Cooper gem.
Alice Cooper - You Look Good In Rags
A sorely overlooked Cooper gem, with a weird but not unheard of (for Cooper's early 1980s stuff) breakdown at 2:19 through the end. Stereo headphones recommended for that breakdown.
Alice Cooper - Billion Dollar Babies (Live 2005)
For someone so anal about his digital collection, I'm extremely lethargic when it comes to physical media. It's alphabetical but, for example, within the A's, the next record is anyone's guess. ABBA might be followed by Alice Cooper, then Adam Ant, then Accept, etc. My CDs are at least in order by band, but within that particular band it's a mess. I need to get on top of this, but it's a lot and I'm a lazy mofo.
Tidal has a $4/£4 for 4 month deal going on. It's a great time to check out their service if you've been curious.
I don't understand why some people who play D&D are so opposed to character development, i.e., giving their character a decent background. It's the blueprint for everything your character will do and become. I'm not talking about one-off games. I'm talking about playing multi-month/year campaigns. How can you pour yourself into a character if you don't know anything about that character? How do your teammates know how to interact with you?
This is how Bandcamp is supporting artists during COVID-19:
"The Covid-19 pandemic has hit artists especially hard as tours and shows are canceled for the foreseeable future. To help support those impacted, we’re waiving our revenue share on all sales this Friday, March 20, from midnight to midnight PST. If you are able, please join us in putting some much needed money directly into artists’ pockets."
Good on them.
