These days, I find myself moving from death metal to black metal. Other than atmospheric black metal (ABM), I've never been a fan. The low production value has always turned me off. But I think the rising quality of ABM has slowly pulled black metal upward. There is a lot of great, higher production black metal to be had today. Of course, it's been around in pockets for ages (ex: Rotting Christ circa early '90s). So my migration has been made somewhat easier.
