that is a smooth single malt scotch whiskey, thank you very much.

I also don't really like the heavy smoke taste or scent - No Lagavulin for me.
My favorites are Highland Park Drakkar, Scapa, and Jura Superstition. A couple other really good ones are The Dalmore and Bunnahabhain.

@snyde21 oh i have a 16 yr old dalmore! usually, i don't stock anything younger than an 18 but it was a gift. and it is quite delightful.
anything highland can be quite decent tho i'm not familiar w/ the one you mentioned.
i tasted the jura once. too peaty for me. i know i've had a scapa but can't really remember it other than i chose not to buy any.

The Drakkar and Superstition don't have ages, but are very smooth. I'd put the Drakkar up there with the HP18.
Scapa is up on Orkney with HP, so they use very similar water and have the same climate.
@snyde21 good to know. they're not big on tastings where i live now. when i lived in van or calg or edm there were big enough liquor stores that specialized & would do really amazing tastings.
i miss that.
