This is quite impressive work by the EU. Once again they lead the world in effectively dealing with the inundating rush of developing social media, information technology, and artificial intelligence.

I continue to be ashamed of the broken US Congress, which hasn't a clue.

The difference is they work for the good of the people, the US Congress works for the good of big business. No value added for them to provide privacy rights to Americans. Broken indeed.

@KGinKS @sloudermilk

considering how fast AI is being transformed over a mere matter of months the EU plans might not actually work as intended the act's provisions are not expected to be enforceable for another year or two

@ecksmc @KGinKS Ok. However, this group is directly confronting seriously complicated and important issues by taking considered actions after consultation with the respective parties.

They get serious points from me for that.

I'm with the crowd that favors doing something rather than nothing because it might not be the right move.

@sloudermilk @KGinKS

Wasn't criticising the actual thing was just pointing out it won't actually be implemented for 1 or 2 yrs so a lot of changes will probably have to be added to the policy as well as others removed .... So what's written now won't necessary become part of anything

Yes. Makes sense. I'm just really touchy and depressed these days about the non-functional, brain-dead US Congress.
