Quick question: do folks here like Scrivener? I'm almost at the end of the trial, and I'm still torn on whether I want to pay for it. Are there other things I should try first that are similar? #cosowriters
@danialexis That's great context, thank you! I haven't really tested that part of it yet. Honestly, it didn't occur to me to simulate the submission phase to check for that kind of thing. Will rectify. Definitely don't want to make a manuscript memorable for the wrong reasons!
@sleepingbearcat I use scrivener for a variety of reasons including its integration with PWA and its incredibly organizational functions. I export to word to import to Vellum.
@sleepingbearcat As a onetime editor and publisher, I loathed Scrivener with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. It used to leave a ton of artifacts in "save as Word" files, which I had to remove by hand while typesetting.
Idk if it still does, but in 2016 or so we actually started refusing submissions that had ever been through Scrivener.
