One of the 12 year olds explains they went to a mandatory assembly about teachers using inappropriate touch, etc. with videos and an app for reporting.
Apparently there is a suspected pedohilia teacher at her school. I guess I should say allegedly. Although the assembly was a state wide mandatory thing, not just because of this suspected pedophile.

@CinnamonGirlE

It has surprised me how much school communication has fell outside the traditional admin/parent communication channel, and more between admin/student.

A bit disconcerting, especially with the incoming. Ripe for abuse.😦

@slapout
Things certainly have changed even since my kids were in school. (Boy, that sounds like an old person, lol! )
But the whole world has.
Long discussions with them both, who are smart cookies. But not matter how smart, 12 year olds are going to be 12.
And predators are going to prey.

@CinnamonGirlE

Absolutely, and the more communication between all concerned individuals, the better.

Hopefully, the school at least reached out, so you knew this was something your 12 year old was dealing with.

@slapout
Likely they reached out to parents. I am a step removed from that process, my info often comes after the fact.
