The thing about the “takeover” of Twitter that has me most concerned is that it has been how many recent social uprisings got their momentum to push back with public support. Think Occupy Wallstreet, Arab Spring, Mahsa Amimi protests in Iran, Hong Kong protests before pandemic, etc.
Someone taking over twitter and basically kneecapping it so that it’s no long a threat to those in power, is something they’d very much champion.
Do we know who was involved in helping Elon secure the funding?
I’ve got the whole world in my hand.
I’ve got the little tiny baby in my hand.
I’ve got the whole world in my hand.
You can feel the pressure building. It's going to peak soon and will either race down one side or the other. It could go either way. Yet, going either way could potentially be catastrophic.
Perhaps there's yet a third way that no one has yet considered.
I hope the flow favors the majority instead of the lunatic fringe.
Anyone with eyes could plainly see everything right out in the open. All the signs were there. There were insidious signs of impending chaos with a distinct possibility of wide-spread grief.
Yet, it didn't seem like anyone could see them at all.
The signs were like apparitions that only a very few could actually see. These few were becoming increasingly paralyzed with absolute fear.

Observation: I was looking around here at CS for about 45mins. Completely pleasant experience. Then, I went back over to twitter to scroll a bit for news and within 5mins I felt my pulse increase, my chest tighten, knot in my stomach, and a growing sense of both sadness and rage. No joke. It couldn't have been more than 5mins of twitter doom scrolling. Popped right back over here! :)
