The thing about the “takeover” of Twitter that has me most concerned is that it has been how many recent social uprisings got their momentum to push back with public support. Think Occupy Wallstreet, Arab Spring, Mahsa Amimi protests in Iran, Hong Kong protests before pandemic, etc.

Someone taking over twitter and basically kneecapping it so that it’s no long a threat to those in power, is something they’d very much champion.

Do we know who was involved in helping Elon secure the funding?

@ReneeVoiceBrand that’s my speculation, but is this known/verified?

@skiphunt I know the saudis put out a PR piece about their investment. I don’t know what other info is available.

@Silea that makes me sick to my stomach - every time I read something like this I remember that Bush senior cleared the airspace for Saudi royals to flee after 9/11 when no one else could fly. Most insidious bone saw level evil going back decades seems to be traced to oil greed & Saudis

@skiphunt The Saudis are reportedly the largest source of his buyout funds after his own funds.

@TheDeepBlueFox it’s terrifying considering also that Saudis 100% own some of the largest refineries here in Texas - and we are selling them our most advanced weapons that they could possibly use against us if we don’t comply
