Your smart TV is snooping on you. Here's how to limit the personal data it gathers zdnet.com/home-and-office/home by @sjvn

You can't stop smart TVs from looking over your shoulder, but you can at least cut down on their snooping.

@mcfate That's becoming much harder trhan you might thinik.

@sjvn

THE DIFFICULT WE DO IMMEDIATELY; THE IMPOSSIBLE TAKES A BIT LONGER.

If you don't have cable TV and don't need a tuner, a television is just a monitor with speakers.

@mcfate @sjvn

I went thru this last year...and unless you're willing to pay like $8000 for a business conference room monitor, it's basically impossible to find dumb TVs these days...believe me, I tried...

I ended up buying Samsung smart TVs, which do allow you to disable all the smart crap and effectively turn it into a dumb screen without too much hassle...there's still a couple annoyances, but I've been able to work around em...

@opie @sjvn

I just did a search on Amazon for "dumb TV" and got ten pages of results.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

@sjvn I use my Apple TV because it lets me opt out and forces apps to disclose.
