I don't know how "new" this is. For decades, I preferred e-mail, text, and IM, Please don't call me unless you're my partner, daughter, or a good friend.
I hate voicemail. The quality is usually poor and people often don't speak clearly. So I have to listen to it more than once to catch names & the phone number.
@sjvn those people know if they call me I'll presume that the police, an ambulance, and some reporters are involved.
