We turned aside to try to figure out why the moon was rising so far to the north versus earlier in the month. Then we were trying to figure out if the moon spun on its axis...blah blah...

@SandHillThicket It's tidally locked. It spins synchronously with it's orbit so the same face is always pointed at work.
