9/11 was a terrible day. I only wish we had been a better nation.
Instead of creating actual unity and just dealing with the perpetrators, we let a self-serving President start a second war that had nothing to do with that day. He destroyed a country that was not responsible and left another even worse chaos in its wake.
I mourn 9/11, both for the victims that day and the destruction the terrorists wrought and also for the innocents who were dragged into a war we shouldn't have started in Iraq.

@sfleetucker He went after two countries that had nothing to do with 9/11, but his family was close to the Saudi royal family so he provided them with a jet so they could leave the country and avoid potential prosecution.

Yeah he was a real treat, but Rump had me thinking kindly toward the screw up.

@cjcrew I think there were credible reasons to go after the ringleader in Afghanistan, but yes we absolutely ignored the Saudis' role.

Of course, there's no going back to fix it. :(

@sfleetucker But not when you have another war on another front and an all volunteer military that couldn’t handle it. And then they weren’t being properly supplied with body armor so they had to improvise with what they could salvage from garbage.

They love the troops, they just don’t love them enough to spend money on proper gear. His administration was a dumpster fire. Although, I’m not sure he did much of that, I suspect Cheney was behind most of this. He was the one who profited.
