Has anyone ever heard of needing permission from your current primary dr to transfer to a different primary?
I've been looking for a new primary and this week I finally found one who is accepting new patients and is closer to my home by 15 minutes. I was told by the hospital network that they have to contact my primary and get their permission for me to transfer to a new clinic. WTH?
I've never heard of such a thing. 😕
I've not heard of that! Is your insurance an HMO or something similar?
I'm on Medicaid
Ah. I definitely can't speak for that. Out of my knowledge lane.
It's ok. ♥️ I was told to allow at least 48 hours for them to hear back from my doctor's office so I'm going to call them tomorrow. I called Monday afternoon but figure I'll wait until Thursday morning,
I don’t have a state Medicaid account. I have a state social services account where I applied for Medicaid, food stamps, etc and all those applications/notifications are stored but it doesn’t have anything to do with my doctor.

Evidently, it can be set up differently based on the state where you live. You’re doing the right thing to find the primary doctor that’s a good one. Life’s too short to deal with doctors who don’t support your needs. 🌻
