I found out today from my Social Security disability caseworker that neither my spine orthopedic nor hip orthopedic will co-sign my application.🤬 Guess they don't believe that the continuous stabs of pain & difficulty focusing because of the pain is enough.
Hopefully, all the medical records that she has gathered in addition to my substantial mental health history and cooperation from all the psychs and therapists I've had will be enough to qualify me.
@see_the_sus That sucks. Best of luck getting the care you need.
Thanks ♥️
Now if I could get some home care assistance. i qualified for that last fall and finally had a worker come by, in November, but she quit after three days. My patient care coordinator has been trying to get a new agency but there aren't enough workers.
@see_the_sus @lifeinthePNW this is a serious problem Nationwide. The jobs don't pay enough to live and so competent people have to do something else. I have been trying for a year to get an additional caregiver, without any success.
The funny thing is that I'd prefer a male caregiver. I don't need any personal hygiene assistance and having another woman in my home doing chores & cooking reminded me too much of being around my mom. Plus, I only need help about 3 days a week.
@see_the_sus @DavidKMresists @lifeinthePNW yes, and a lot of men would prefer male caregivers, but very VERY few men go into care work because the pay is so bad and men have more options than women, even men of color... plus men are far more often accused of sexual impropriety (why there are so few men in preschool through elementary education, besides shit pay, being accused of sexual assault is a very real issue)
