Found out today our homeowner's insurance canceled our policy as of Dec. 23rd.
My sister's (different company) was also canceled. Reason stated for both is "reduction of high-hazard relative to catastrophic events".
Our house has been here nearly 50 years. Harvey didn't hurt it. We're not on the coast. We're not in a flood plain. We've never made a claim.
We're not exactly in hurricane alley here. This is going to make the few companies willing to cover us much more expensive. π‘
WTF??? Is there a way to get a detailed explanation of how they came to make this decision? Like statistics, graphs, etc. This is bizarre.
