Woo! It's live. 🎉

Today for : the "socialisms" piece I mentioned.

This isn't just a list of different definitions of the term.

I wanted to write an explainer to help readers understand bigger questions about work, political life, personal relations, & the road to societal reform that many have tried to answer (differently!) under an umbrella term more often used as a scare tactic.

Can we ever have a more mature conversation about how to build a better world?

I don't have time right now to read all of your essay, (I'm a slow reader), but what I have read so far is very engaging.

I became interested in Socialism when I was in my mid-20s and soon discovered that my supposed liberal friends believed it to be communism. I wasn't expecting their criticism to say the least nor being told I should go live in Russia.

Oh, thanks for taking the time to read even a bit of it, and to share your experience.

Words are funny, aren't they?

Before some of our modern divisions between socialism and capital-C Communism, there was communism... and there still is small-c commun(al)ism today.

It all gets very confusing when we focus on the names of things, instead of reflecting on the actual *ideas* behind so many colliding terms.

Sorry your social-democrat friends were so cruel! No call for that, ever.
